Expose full data via API

+1 for this one -- it seems like right now the best way to get fields like tags and groups is to export all data as csv, but that's very cumbersome, and not automatable

This is also key to me -- I just spent weeks loading and merging all my contacts into the app with Custom Fields b/c I assumed I would get the data back via API! Nope! -- If not resolved my sub will most def churn.

Please at least expose the ability to add a contact to a group

I strongly support this request for a fully exposed API. This would be extremely valuable for our team as we could build custom modules to address our specific needs instead of waiting for native features to be developed in Dex.

Having API access would eliminate our need to look at alternative platforms. Since you already have a solid API infrastructure powering the application, extending this access to users seems like a reasonable enhancement that could deliver significant value without requiring extensive development resources.

I believe this should be prioritized highly on your roadmap as it would benefit power users while potentially reducing your feature request backlog.

+1000 from me on this. I use Dex as my contact source of truth but need to replicate those contacts into other platforms, like ClickUp, for project management and other things beyond the scope of Dex.

the current Dex API doesn’t allow me to retrieve a list of contacts I should reconnect with in the next X days—unless I’ve explicitly created reminders for them. It would be incredibly useful (and I imagine other power users would benefit too) if there were a way to query the API for upcoming frequent contacts.
