Requested again by a customer who imported contacts from a CSV where the Group column used semicolons as the separator. The importer only splits that column on commas, so each semicolon-delimited string was created as a single group, leaving hundreds of junk groups covering every combination of memberships that appeared in the file.
Removing them is currently one group at a time, which they measured at roughly 30 to 60 seconds each in the UI. They also report the app feeling slow on both web and desktop with that many groups present. The ask is a way to select and delete many groups in one action.
