Hi Olivier, thanks for the message. In general, on Canny, I'm marking requests as complete once we ship significant updates; for any further improvements needed, I'll create further requests.
We did make the above-described fixes, which means Merge & Fix now handles many obvious cases that it missed before — but as you've pointed out, there's still more we need to do. Our work isn't finished and I'll track your feedback in a separate request.

Trying the free trial now. The prospect of having to merge 500+ of my Google Calendar / GMail contacts with their LinkedIn profiles is not great.
For example:
I have a LinkedIn contact with name "John Smith" and a nameless GMail contact whose email is "[email protected]"
Dex does not recognize these two as being duplicates. The same issue is present for several hundred other contacts.

I'd like better visibility into how the merging works. Which entry wins? What order is used for phone, email, addresses if different? Which photo wins? AND…. ability to UNDO a merge. I accidentally merged 1 contact because of similar first name with no way to undo it. I had to recreate contact #2, and manually remove the merged info from contact #1.

Anthony Gutierrez: quick note: for phones, emails, and addresses we'll create the merged contact with all of them! For photo / title / name and other fields where we have to choose, we pick the most recently created contact!

Annoying aspect of merging: it doesn't let you choose which name to keep and it's a destructive action. I keep losing people's last names because it takes the name from my phone and overwrites the one from linkedin.

Ethan Puzarne Agree — at the very least I'd love an evergreen setting of which data source to prioritize (e.g. I imagine Linkedin name and photo will always be more up to date than what's on my phone)

I want the option to click on two or more names in the full contact list to merge them. If a name comes in wonky, only I will know it's a duplicate.
