Some additional context and arguments for integrating with Discord.
Discord is an online chat community platform that was originally designed for coordinating and organizing online gaming sessions but has exploded in popularity over the past several years as a general community chat platform.
Younger generations like GenZ and Millennials use Discord heavily, especially if they are in the gaming or online creator spaces.
The problem with discord is there is no information in your contact lists about what the person's actual name is, their role, their business name, or anything. Everyone's got their weird screennames and it's super difficult to find the right person in your list. The majority of business contacts I collaborate with right now I'm communicating with them via Discord, not email.
Having Dex integrate with Discord would make it much easier to connect the dots between email, discord, and real names. I've just joined Dex and am starting to track discord names with a custom field. Before using Dex I maintained a spreadsheet mapping real names to discord handles to email addresses.
I realize this is also outlining a serious flaw with Discord itself that should probably be fixed on Discord's end. But I don't think they intended it to be used in the way it's actually being used by online creators.
I appreciate you considering my feature request! Feel free to reach out to me if you have questions. I'm also happy to jump on a video call to discuss.
